The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at non-profits tackling some of our nation's most pressing policy challenges all over the United States. Early-career professionals including undergraduate/graduate/law students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates will be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program. About National Taxpayers Union Foundation National Taxpayers Union Foundation is a non-partisan research and education organization dedicated to showing Americans how taxes, government spending, and regulations affect them. Through data collection, analysis, and commentary, we empower citizens to engage in the critical policy debates of our time and hold elected officials accountable. To educate our target audiences, we perform incisive research and analysis on a wide range of policy issues with a particular focus on tax, technology, interstate commerce, legislative scoring, and trade. We also have a newly launched public interest litigation project that has extended our work into the judicial sphere.   About the Role Assist with NTUF research, analysis, and outreach efforts focused on budget and tax reform. Responsibilities include tracking and analyzing policy proposals and budget data, and contributing to issue briefs and other content for NTUF's website.   This role is open to remote or onsite candidates.    **Qualified candidates must submit a cover letter detailing their interest in the position and NTUF’s mission and may include this in the "Additional Information" field seen after clicking the "Apply for this Job" button.** Candidates may also be asked to engage with NTUF's other projects, including: • Taxpayers’ Budget Office: Support efforts to improve fiscal transparency, strengthen cost estimates, eliminate budget gimmicks, reduce wasteful spending, and expose costly government perks. • Free Trade Initiative: Support initiatives that educate Americans about the economic benefits of trade. • Center for State Competitiveness: Collaborate on efforts to resist the growing trend of states seeking to tax and regulate outside their borders, disrupting interstate commerce. Ideal candidates will possess: • Basic quantitative skills. • Exceptional attention to detail. • An interest in public policy issues, specifically budget, tax, and regulatory matters. • Strong research, communication, and writing skills.
