Human Resources Intern (Year-Round)

About the HR Service Center Internship: Gain hands-on HR experience across employee support, benefits, onboarding, HR systems, reporting, and process improvement while building strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Program structure: • Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer. • Location: Mequon, WI • Start Date: January 2027 • Duration: Year-round internship What we're looking for: • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Human Resources Management or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level. • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. • Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent customer service skills to assist employees with questions. • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. • Planning and organizational skills. • Time management skills. • Attention to detail. • Ability to succeed in a team environment. • Ability to handle multiple tasks. Preferred experience: • HRIS experience. • Customer service experience. • Familiarity and/or experience with HR practices and HR law. What you'll focus on: • Provide employee customer service. • Perform human resources project work, including assistance with recruitment, benefits administration, research, creating reports, and event planning assistance. • Assist in conducting new hire orientation. • Ensure timely and accurate HRIS data updates. • Maintain employee file accuracy. • Maintain confidentiality. • Document and improve processes.
