Intern Summer 2027 - Maintenance

The Day to Day: In the Civil Engineering Intern role, you will support the Plant Engineering and Facilities team by updating critical facility drawings and organizing compliance documentation. This internship will provide hands-on experience with AutoCAD, document control, facility planning, and regulatory audit preparation in a manufacturing environment. • Update shell drawings for core facility buildings using AutoCAD. • Review and revise building egress plans to reflect current facility layouts. • Update underground utility drawings for future planning, research, and compliance activities. • Organize engineering drawings, records, and technical documents for efficient retrieval. • Assist with developing and maintaining a structured compliance filing system. • Compile documentation related to fire-suppression systems, fuel-island testing, pressure-vessel testing, and other facility compliance requirements. • Help ensure information is accurate, current, and readily available for audits involving Plant Engineering. • Collaborate with Plant Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and other stakeholders to confirm drawing and documentation requirements. • Complete additional facility-engineering and document-control projects based on business needs. In This Internship, You Will Gain Experience With: • AutoCAD and technical drawing updates • Facility and building documentation • Building egress and life-safety plans • Underground utility drawings • Engineering document-control practices • Regulatory compliance records and audit preparation • Manufacturing plant engineering and facilities operations • Cross-functional communication and project coordination You Will Be Exposed To: • A professional manufacturing and plant-engineering environment • Facility planning, maintenance, and compliance activities • Core building layouts and infrastructure systems • Fire-suppression, fuel-island, and pressure-vessel documentation • Engineering records used for audits, research, and future planning • Collaboration with plant leadership, engineers, facilities personnel, and maintenance teams • Managing multiple technical projects and documentation priorities Qualifications: • Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field. • Interest in facility engineering, building systems, infrastructure, and manufacturing operations. • Coursework or experience using AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design software. • Ability to read, interpret, and update technical drawings and plans. • Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and document-management skills. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
